1,000mg EPA+DHA per serving — the dose clinical trials actually use.

The science

EPA and DHA have more human clinical trial data behind them than almost any other supplement category. The evidence spans cardiovascular health (triglyceride reduction, blood pressure, arrhythmia risk), cognitive function, inflammation, and mood regulation.

Dose is everything. Most trials showing meaningful effects used 1–3g of combined EPA+DHA daily. Most fish oil products on the market deliver a fraction of that. Our 2-softgel serving provides 1,000mg of combined EPA+DHA — within the evidence-backed range for most adults.

How to take it

2 softgels daily with a meal. Food significantly improves absorption and eliminates the reflux some people experience with fish oil. Refrigerating the softgels also helps.

Common questions

EPA vs DHA — which matters more?
Both, for different reasons. EPA drives anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular effects and is more closely linked to mood regulation. DHA is the structural fat in the brain and retina — critical for cognitive function and neural health. A roughly 3:2 EPA:DHA ratio reflects the balance used in most clinical trials.

How much do I actually need daily?
For general cardiovascular and cognitive health, 1–2g of combined EPA+DHA daily is what the evidence supports. For specific therapeutic outcomes — triglyceride reduction, inflammation management — some trials use up to 4g under clinical supervision. Our serving provides 1,000mg, effective for most adults.

Why does the label say 2,000mg fish oil but only 1,000mg EPA+DHA?
Fish oil contains omega-3s alongside other fatty acids — 2,000mg is the total oil weight. What matters is the active EPA and DHA content: 1,000mg per serving. Many products market total oil weight to make doses look larger than they are. Always check the EPA and DHA numbers directly.

Can omega-3s help with inflammation?
Yes. EPA and DHA are precursors to resolvins and protectins — compounds that actively resolve inflammation. Multiple RCTs show reductions in CRP and IL-6 with consistent omega-3 supplementation at 1g+ EPA+DHA daily. The effect is real but gradual — typically 8–12 weeks for measurable changes.

Is there a risk from taking too much?
At 1–3g EPA+DHA daily, omega-3s are extremely well-tolerated. Above 3g, there’s a theoretical risk of increased bleeding time — relevant if you’re on anticoagulants. If you’re taking blood thinners, consult your doctor before supplementing at higher doses.
